STEM for elementary school blog- June

Here in American chatter box we have classes uniquely designed to give our kids sense of hands-on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Our STEM for elementary school classes are three days a week (Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday) that started more than a year ago. Every week new materials, experiments and activities are being designed and introduced to our students in atmosphere of inquiry and curiosity. This class is created passionately in order to deepen the interest of students towards science and technology. During our June classes students have been learning about mechanical engineering. The class flow starts by introducing the vocabulary that will be used in the class, then introducing the concept discussed using visual aids (computer, projector).

A discussion then follow, and introductory activity is done by students.

In their observation sheet (every week new one) student do some activity to demonistrate the concept

After students are familiar with the concept, the experiment materials and instructions are then introduced to students in an interesting manner. The students' favorite part then comes, with the teacher students do a variety of experiment, this month its assembling robotic arm.

Students learn how to build and control robots.

Students usually ask a lot of questions in English in this class, they enjoy learning how and why do things work.
Every month there is a theme for the STEM classes, this month the theme was mechanical engineering. Our classes are very popular amongest students in American Chatter Box and our students wait for the class's day!
